"Every executive forever has to spend time, energy, and ingenuity on patching up or bailing out the actions and decisions of yesterday, whether his own or those of his predecessor. In fact, this always takes up more hours of his day than any other task."

Peter Drucker in "The Effective Executive", p. 104

For most of us, this is a frustrating experience (and especially so for people with Ideation, Futuristic and Activator). But people with Restorative may develop the strength of deriving satisfaction and energy from resolving such problems. This is certainly not a bad thing if it is true what Drucker says: that this takes up more hours of an executive's day than any other task.

"The Compulsion to Improve
One of the primary Zen elements in the Bushido code is that one never totally masters anything and must therefore continually strive for improvement. This code has permeated Japanese culture for close to a thousand years, and had traditionally applied to everything they did. It is the foundation of the philosophy bound up in the expression kaizen, or "continuous improvement" (...)
There is a well-known saying in Japanese that expresses the ongoing belief in continuous improvement: "Today I must beat the me of yesterday."

Boyé Lafayette de Mente in "The Japanese Samurai Code - Classic Strategies for Success" p. 17f.

The Restorative talent can manifest itself also in a desire to continuously improve things (instead of just fixing things), and most importantly of improving oneself.
