Having the talent Strategic does not make you automatically a great strategic thinker or planner in business. Whenever you want to develop a talent into a strength, you need to add knowledge, skills and experience. I believe that in the case of developing the strength of strategic thinking in business, you actually need to acquire substantial amount of knowledge about strategies, concepts, frameworks, good and bad examples.
One of the best books that I found for that purpose is Henry Mintzbergs "Strategy Safari - A Guided Tour Through the Wilds of Strategic Management". It gives you a wonderful overview of the various different schools in strategic management.
